THE KNOWLEDGEBASE BEHIND AL QAEDA’S MILLENNIALIST EXHIBITION

Prophecies Of The Major Apocalyptic Traditions

NOTE:  The following essay is not intended to authenticate ancient prophecies about the beginning of the third millennium.  Rather, this examination of noteworthy millennialist predictions aims to survey the modern apocalyptic beliefs that the Al Qaeda cult has attempted to imitate.

The modern “millennialist fever” exhibited by apocalypticists worldwide was spawned in large part by the contemporary convergence of ancient forecasts of the Apocalypse War, an anomalous concurrence that the History Channel has termed “The Nostradamus Effect”.  Undoubtedly, Al Qaeda’s willful imitation of this mythology with the 9/11 War has amplified popular belief in the authenticity of the ominous warnings from the ancient world.  In fact, the hijacking of this “Nostradamus Effect” by the world’s most influential apocalyptic cult has figured centrally in Al Qaeda’s millennialist global war against the “Great Satan” superpower.

Over the past five thousand years, numerous ancient prophetic traditions have established the beginning of the third millennium as the age of the Apocalypse War.  The methodology of these predictions involved both the explicit identification of dates and the referencing of contemporary events.  The most prominent examples of these prophetic sources include the Egyptian time scale inside the Great Pyramid, Nostradamus, the Koran, the Christian Bible, the famed Irish monk St. Malachy, the Hopi Indians and the Mayan long-count Calendar.

Egyptian

The Great Pyramid at Giza survives as the ancient world’s one remaining wonder.  An enduring storehouse of information, this time capsule of the pharaohs exhibits advanced knowledge of mathematics, architectural engineering and astronomy.  Embedded among the multiple functions of this most sacred site of antiquity, researchers have discovered a prophetic time scale encoded within the structure’s interior passageways.  Like a traditional timeline, the pyramid’s ceremonial passages depict the passage of time geometrically, with each successive pyramid-inch (the Egyptian measure of distance) equivalent to one year.  Some scholars have concluded that this timeline in the Great Pyramid reveals an accurate prophetic picture of human history.  Along with pivotal historical dates, the prophecy identifies defining characteristics of the corresponding events.  The tunnel’s designated name, direction, size or type of stone all serve to distinguish key details of the great turning points in history, culminating in an apocalyptic war slated to erupt in September 2001 AD.

Marking the last and most prominent predictive date of the time scale, the ancient Egyptians forcefully emphasized this prophecy by positioning it on the only obstruction in the pyramid’s passageways.  Located in the antechamber to the pyramid’s final room, the “Room of the Purification of the Nations”, this climactic final prediction of the timescale depicts the initiation of the Apocalypse War in the same month that Bin Laden’s apocalyptic cult initiated the 9/11 War.  In particular, the Egyptian prophecy for September 2001 forecasts an unprecedented physical catastrophe that sets in motion the anticipated fiery purification of nations by “the chamber of central fire”.  Al Qaeda appears to aim at completing its imitation of this prophecy by prompting the worldwide destruction from a global nuclear holocaust.  In the context of the world’s ancient apocalyptic traditions, the Great Pyramid’s forecast for September 2001 represents the final purification through a global holy war that precedes humanity's entrance into the Promised Land, God's awaited kingdom on earth.

Nostradamus

The 16th century French prophet Nostradamus is renown as one of the most prolific sources of apocalyptic predictions.  While on the one hand drawing from ancient mythology, Nostradamus amplified this lore with detailed descriptions of purported future events.  In particular, the French prophet identified three successive world leaders that he termed “antichrists” as the inciting catalysts for world wars that would propel humanity’s march towards the Apocalypse War.  The first two of these antichrists, a French emperor and a German emperor, have been widely understood to be Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler, respectively.  The final antichrist, an Arab “King of Terror”, was slated by Nostradamus’ most famous prophecy to provoke the global religious conflict of the Apocalypse War during the arrival of the third millennium.

In July of 1999,
the great King of Terror will come from the sky.
(10q72 (index number))

L'an mil neuf cens nonante neuf sept mois,

Du ciel viendra vn grand Roy d'effrayeur.
(the original Nostradamus (Old French))

Mirroring this mythological “great King of Terror”, Osama bin Laden initiated his 9/11 plot initiated in July 1999 (as observed in the 9/11 Commission Report).  This airborne attack (“from the sky”) by the king of global terrorism provoked a global religious war at the start of the third millennium, as was anticipated by apocalyptic prophecy.  Bin Laden’s July 1999 preparations for his millennial world war followed his declaration of global war on the “Great Satan” superpower and his first overt terrorist attack on America in the previous year.  Interestingly, July 1999 was also the first month that Bin Laden topped the FBI's most wanted list.  In this same pivotal month, President Clinton received such startling intelligence that he signed an executive order radically changing America's Al Qaeda/Taliban policy, declaring the Taliban to be a state-sponsor of terrorism and authorizing the CIA to capture or kill Bin Laden.  In the context of the Al Qaeda warlord’s close emulation of Judeo-Christian-Islamic prophecy, the presence (in inverse “hidden” form) of the infamous mark of the beast from Revelation 13:18 (666) within the dating (1999) of Nostradamus’ distinctively precise prediction about his final antichrist in the above 10q72 quatrain also connects this prophecy about the “King of Terror” to Revelation’s account of the Apocalypse War’s chief antagonist, the “King Destroyer” from Revelation 9:11.

Beyond Nostradamus’ explicit dating, the French prophet also pinpoints signs corroborating that the beginning of the third millennium was the time frame he slated for the Apocalypse War.

The third antichrist very soon annihilated,
Twenty-seven years his bloody war will last.
The heretics dead, captives exiled,

Blood-soaked human bodies, and a reddened, icy hail covering the Earth.

(8q77)

In the context of Nostradamus’ own knowledge base of ancient prophecies that slated the religious Apocalypse War to begin at the start of the third millennium, he uses religious terminology (“heretics”) to describe the dead of his third (and final) antichrist’s world war.  Amplifying this depiction of his final antichrist’s religious zealotry, Nostradamus observes that he becomes of martyr of the war that he provokes.  The prophetic account of “a reddened, icy hail covering the Earth” closely matches the image of nuclear winter envisioned by scientists as the likely outcome of an apocalyptic nuclear war.  In addition, it describes the architect of the Apocalypse War as a religiously zealous world-war provocateur.  Most crucially, this prediction identifies the precise length of time that his “bloody war will last”: “twenty-seven years”.  Bin Laden set in motion his long-held ambition to imitate the prophesized enemy of Judaism and Christianity, the Muslim Messiah of the Apocalypse, when he created Al Qaeda in 1986-88 (originally christened “The Lion’s Den” in April 1986, formally renamed “The Base” and chartered in March 1988).  Marking this time period as the start of Bin Laden’s war, projecting twenty-seven years later pinpoints the date 2012, precisely matching the expected time of the Apocalypse War’s climax according to the most famous Doomsday date, that of Mayan prophecy (see section below).  Bin Laden’s willful emulation of apocalyptic prophecy appears to continue in additional Nostradamus quatrains.

One who the infernal gods of Hannibal,

will cause to be reborn, terror to all mankind:

Never more horror nor the newspapers tell of worse in the past,

Then will come to the Romans through Babel.

(2q30)

Nostradamus depicts an individual arising from the lands of the ancient empire of Carthage that once produced the fearsome warlord Hannibal.  These areas encompass the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa and neighboring regions in the Middle East.  Corroborating other Nostradamus prophecies about an "Arab prince" and his apocalyptic war with Christianity (5q25), this prophecy characterizes the expected “King of Terror” as an Arab.  Notably, the title “the Arab prince” is one of Bin Laden's most popular aliases.  His global reign of terrorism has undoubtedly prompted “terror to all mankind” based on unprecedented attacks that befit the description “never more horror nor of newspapers tell of worse in the past”.  Mirroring this prophecy and those of Revelation, Bin Laden provoked the U.S. invasion of Iraq (ancient Babel) on 9/11, rejuvenated his Al Qaeda insurgency based on America’s military blunder there, and now threatens catastrophic terrorism on the superpower he calls “the modern Rome” in retaliation.  Iraq’s role as the turning point in the 9/11 war for modern-Rome and the Western world appears to be a critical element of apocalyptic prophecy that Bin Laden willfully vivified.

Finally, the third antichrist will cause an inundation of human blood . . . After that, the Antichrist will be the infernal prince again for the third and last time.  All the Kingdoms of Christianity, and even those of the infidels (Muslims), will tremble . . .

(Epistle to King Henry II )

Nostradamus’ identification of his final antichrist as the “infernal prince” engaged in an earth-trembling war against all of Christianity visibly connects this prophecy with the “the Arab prince” (5q25) born of “the infernal gods of Hannibal” (2q30).  Bin Laden's imitation of the foremost opponent of Christians and Jews described by Nostradamus and Judeo-Christian apocalyptic traditions is also consonant with the Islamic depiction of the Muslim Messiah.  Al Qaeda’s decision to parallel closely the timing and characteristics of the “great King of Terror” predicted by Nostradamus represents arguably the most conniving terrorist plot ever hatched.

The Koran

Despite its virulently anti-Semitic and anti-Christian verses, the Koran originated as a derivative work of Judeo-Christian scripture.  Ironically revered by Islamic apocalypticists, the holy books of the avowed enemies of Islam provided the basis for a new vision of the future Apocalypse that portrays the Antichrist figure that kills Jews and Christians as a righteous Muslim Messiah.  Although this central figure of the Apocalypse War is conspicuously omitted from the Koran and only appears in the later Islamic accounts of the life and traditions of the Prophet Mohammed, the Koran does provide some explicit support for the overarching apocalyptic mythology.

"When the Terror descends (and none denies its descending) abasing, exalting, when the earth shall be rocked and the mountains crumbled and become a dust scattered . . . on the Day of Doom.
(56, 1-56)

"So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, and heaven shall be split . . .and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed.
(69.13-18)

Using language (trumpets prompting physical catastrophes) famously employed by the Book of Revelation, the Koran depicts an age of global terror characterized by a worldwide religious war that culminates in the arrival of God’s kingdom on Earth.  In the context of millennialist prophecy, Al Qaeda’s close emulation of this Koranic account of the Apocalypse War conspicuously demonstrates the cult’s overarching strategy for Messiah pretension.

The Bible

Various books of the Christian bible provide descriptions that collectively constitute the biblical account of the Final War of the Apocalypse.  Most famously, the conflict’s major battlefields are specifically identified.  The Christian holy land figures prominently in this proposed scenario.  The Bible envisions the Apocalypse spawned from a holy war between the newly created state of Israel and the Palestinians (Ezekiel 38:8).  Neighboring Iraq (ancient Babylon) is slated to be a staging area for this final war (Zechariah 12:3, Isaiah 11:11, Rev 9:12-19, Rev 17/18).  Al Qaeda’s role in magnifying and even creating conflicts on these two prophesized battlegrounds appears to be a particularly calculated attempt to manufacture the Apocalypse.

The Book of Revelation provides probably the greatest detail for this biblical account.  The primary instigator of this forecasted war is a man identified as the Destroyer of 9:11.  This verse of the final chapter of the Bible describes the revelation of this man's identity to the world on the day he executes the first horror of the Apocalypse, a fiery attack that incites the greatest war in history.  In particular, this biblical verse depicts a monumentally horrific airborne attack that signals the global revelation of the Destroyer of civilization.  On 9/11 of the first year of the third millennium, a conspicuous imitation of the Revelation of the Destroyer came in the personage of Osama bin Laden, who conclusively revealed his destructive intentions to the world with a horrific airborne attack that started the first world war of the nuclear age.  Already in 2000, as millennialists worldwide awaited the beginning of the Final Days, Bin Laden had claimed this identity to the world as the Destroyer of Revelation 9:11 when he bombed a destroyer of the U.S.  At the end of the final book of the Bible, another possible convergence of dating in apocalyptic prophecy occurs at Revelation 20:12.  Apparently corroborating the Mayan prediction for 2012 as the climax of the Apocalypse, this unique verse describes the Final Judgment and destruction of civilization preceding the birth of God’s kingdom on Earth.  Al Qaeda’s emulation of the battlegrounds, key persona and possible dates indicated by the famous sources of apocalyptic prophecy in the Bible represents a crucial element of Bin Laden’s bid for Messiah pretension.

St. Malachy

One of the lesser known prophets, St. Malachy was a 12th-century Irish monk who fell into a trance one day during a pilgrimage to the center of the Catholic world in Rome.  During his vision, he voiced a list of future popes that appears to have accurately described every pope up through the modern age.  According to this prophecy, only one pope remains after the current pope until the Final Judgment in which Rome is destroyed in the Apocalypse War.  St. Malachy’s unique prophetic timeline confirms the dating pinpointed by other ancient prophecies that Al Qaeda has endeavored to employ in its bid to portray Bin Laden as the Muslim Messiah.  Considering the apocalyptic cult’s keen attention to these kinds of ancient predictions, it is not unlikely that they are aware of writings by some of the less famous prophets like St. Malachy.

The Hopi

The Native American Hopi tribe records a prophetic tradition that includes a series of signs that portend the onset of the Apocalypse War.  The final sign slated to occur involves the falling to the Earth of a dwelling that had orbited the planet.  The only domiciles that have existed in orbit have been the space stations, and the space station MIR (Russian for “peace”) fell from its orbit in 2001, the year marked by other prophetic traditions for the start of the Apocalypse War.  In an apparent bid to vivify both famous and obscure apocalyptic prophecies about the beginning of the third millennium, Al Qaeda began the global 9/11 War at this very same time.

Mayan

The ancient Mayan civilization employed its unmatched cosmological knowledge to chart a rare astrological alignment, the conjunction of the Earth, the Sun and the most powerful force in the galaxy, the black hole at its center.  The date of this event, December 21, 2001, marks the final date of the Mayan long-count calendar.  Many researchers have concluded that this forecast indicates the Mayan belief that civilization will terminate on this day.  The convergence of this prophecy with other apocalyptic prophecies has provided Al Qaeda a time window, from 2001-2012, to wage its world war designed to emulate apocalypse mythology.
